Our
Program is Empowering
The Clubhouse is a unique member-driven psychiatric
rehabilitation program for adults living
with serious mental illness. Our members are
offered a multitude of opportunities to achieve
or regain the confidence and skills necessary
to lead productive lives in the community. The
member is a full partner in their rehabilitation
and recovery— all participation in a Clubhouse
is strictly on a voluntary basis.
We focus on Strengths and Abilities
The Clubhouse’s approach to rehabilitation
and voluntary nature combine to change
people’s lives. It is a place where each member’s
strengths, abilities, and goals are the focus,
rather than their mental illness, symptoms, or
history. Members journey from isolation and
dependence to becoming more self-sufficient
and socially active.
A Working Community
All members are needed, wanted and
valued. Working side by side, members
and staff develop the skills necessary
for recovery.
The members of the ‘Ohana Kitchen provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch, as well as meals for special occasions. They maintain a current State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health food service certification.
The ‘Ono Grinds, our snack shop, offers cold beverages and yummy snacks for sale. Members manage all money transactions, maintain the store’s inventory and provide customer service.
The Facilities Unit is responsible for the daily
maintenance of the clubhouse. They upkeep the
indoors and outdoors of clubhouse, grow crops
for use by the Clubhouse and do minor repairs.
The Aloha Thrift Store is a self-sustaining division of the Facilities Unit. Members sort, price, and organize items for sale.
The Clerical Unit operates all office equipment and ensures communication between members, staff, and the public. This unit assists with all administrative tasks such as taking minutes, bookkeeping, and providing statistics.
Career Development Unit

Employment is a fundamental element of
our Clubhouse philosophy—it is a source of
accomplishment, self-confidence, and empowerment
for our members.
Waipahu Aloha Clubhouse offers an employment program designed to integrate members back into meaningful and gainful employment in the community. We recognize the value of a job and strive to provide each member with opportunities through the Transitional Employment Program (TEP), in which members can work in meaningful part-time jobs outside the clubhouse procured through partnerships with community entities and businesses.
TEP provides the necessary supports to ensure that both members and companies succeed. We also offer Supported Employment and Independent Employment programs along with Supported Education for those members who wish to continue their education.
A Healthy Balance
The Clubhouse promotes a healthy balance
of work and play, encouraging members to
socialize after the work-ordered day. We share
quality time outside the work environment;
close relationships with peers are developed
and healthier, active lifestyles are achieved.
