A Community Built on Purpose, Connection & Recovery

The Waipahu Aloha Clubhouse was established on December 1, 1997.  We are one of nine Clubhouses in the state of Hawaii and one of five Clubhouses located on the island of Oahu. We have served over 1000 consumers seeking mental wellness. The Waipahu Aloha Clubhouse is a unique member-driven psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults living with mental illness. Our members are offered a multitude of opportunities to achieve or regain the confidence and skills necessary to lead productive lives in the community. The member is a full partner in their rehabilitation and recovery, all participation in a Clubhouse is strictly on a voluntary basis.

Our Mission

The Waipahu Aloha Clubhouse mission is to offer comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults with mental illness to help them improve their abilities needed for successful integration into the community and to increase their quality of life. The Clubhouse provides a supportive and nurturing environment that enhances self-motivation, respect for self and others, and a desire to work.

The Clubhouse Model

The Clubhouse model was founded in 1948 in New York City by a group of mentally ill individuals. Since then, the Clubhouse movement has grown to more than 400 Clubhouse communities around the world. The Clubhouse model includes 37 standards that all Clubhouses utilize in their daily work-ordered day. Please visit https://clubhouse-intl.org/ to learn more.
